Exploring the Fulbari Canal Wetland

Fulbari Canal, located about 10 km from Siliguri, is a winter paradise for migratory birds. Every year from mid-November to early March, bird lovers gather here to witness stunning avian diversity.

The tricoloured munia is one of the most attractive and frequently spotted birds of the Fulbari grassland ecosystem. This small finch is easily recognised by its rich chestnut body, glossy black head and breast, and contrasting white belly, creating a striking three-coloured appearance.
