The valley is famous for its seasonal flowers, especially rhododendrons, and the scenic route from Lachung through the Shingba Sanctuary.

March to June offers colorful blooms, while October to December provides clear skies and snow-covered landscapes.

Travel & Permits

An Inner Line Permit (PAP) is required to visit Yumthang and nearby areas like Zero Point and Gurudongmar Lake.

After the 2023 glacial flood, connectivity has been restored by BRO, including bridge reconstruction near Lachen Chu.
